Annie Kot has died, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion to her family and community.
Annie died peacefully in the afternoon, surrounded by her loving husband, children, and close family members. In her final days, she received continuous care in the intensive care unit in Regina, Saskatchewan, where she was supported by dedicated medical staff and the unwavering presence of her family.
Born on February 22, 1992, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Annie was the fourth of five children born to Shelly and Ben Dombowsky. She grew up in Moose Jaw, where she attended Cornerstone Christian School before graduating from Central Collegiate. During her school years, she formed lifelong friendships and first met Joel Kot, who would later become her husband.
After high school, Annie pursued ministry training in California at Bethel School of Ministry, where she studied for two years and completed an internship. During this time, she participated in outreach and humanitarian work, volunteering with seniors and serving communities internationally in countries such as Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Nicaragua. Her compassion and commitment to service became defining aspects of her life.
Upon returning to Canada, Annie continued her education at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, where she completed a business program over two years. It was during this period that she reconnected with Joel Kot, and their relationship grew stronger. The couple was married on October 19, 2019, in New York City.
Together, they built a loving family in Moose Jaw. Annie and Joel welcomed their daughter, Gianna Gem Kot, in November 2020, and their son, Ari Thomas Kot, in May 2023. In addition to raising her children, Annie pursued a career in hairstyling and earned her Red Seal certification, demonstrating her dedication, discipline, and work ethic.
Family and friends remember Annie as organized, compassionate, and deeply relational. She was known for her thoughtful nature and the quiet, meaningful ways she showed care for others. Her life reflected a strong commitment to service, both within her local community and through international outreach efforts.
Annie is survived by her husband, Joel Kot, and their children, Gia and Ari; her parents, Shelly and Ben Dombowsky; her siblings Matt, Mark, Louis, and Abigail, along with their families; and her in-laws, John and Eva Kot, as well as extended relatives. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Louis and Elenora Dombowsky, maternal grandfather Ed Begin, and her aunt Rosanne King.
