A serious incident in Melbourne’s central business district has left a man hospitalized following a daylight stabbing on Collins Street, prompting an ongoing police investigation.
Emergency services were called to the area at approximately 2:10pm after reports of an assault in the busy CBD precinct. Upon arrival, first responders located a 37-year-old man from Mill Park suffering from life-threatening injuries. Paramedics provided urgent treatment at the scene before transporting him to hospital, where he is now reported to be in a stable condition.
Victoria Police have established a crime scene along Collins Street as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack. Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby businesses and public areas, as well as speaking with witnesses who were in the vicinity at the time.
