Fayette County Crash; Joseph Franks, 51, of Lemont Furnace Passed Away Following Tragic Crash

Authorities are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of 51-year-old Joseph Franks of Lemont Furnace on Mount Braddock Road in North Union Township, Fayette County.

According to officials, emergency responders were dispatched to the scene after reports of a serious crash involving a vehicle that left the roadway. Franks, who was the sole occupant, sustained critical injuries and was transported to WVU Uniontown Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Fayette County Coroner Bob Baker confirmed his identity and stated that next of kin have been notified.

Preliminary information indicates the cause of the crash remains unknown. Investigators are examining several possible factors, including roadway conditions, vehicle performance, driver health, and other contributing circumstances.
