A graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1983, Dr. Sebastianelli completed his orthopaedic surgery residency in 1988. Throughout his professional journey, Dr. Sebastianelli held several prominent leadership roles. He served as associate chief medical officer for Penn State Health’s Centre County region and as associate dean for clinical affairs at the University Park Regional Campus. He was also the Kalenak Professor in Orthopaedics at the Penn State College of Medicine.
As medical director of Penn State Sports Medicine and director of athletic medicine for Penn State, he was at the forefront of treating sports-related injuries. His clinical expertise spanned knee, shoulder, ankle, hand, and ligament conditions, along with a deep focus on concussion and sports-related brain injuries. Beyond patient care, he was a dedicated educator who mentored fellows, residents, and medical students, leaving a lasting imprint on the next generation of physicians.
