The small community of Cheraw is grieving the tragic loss of 20-year-old Landon Scott Sellers, who was found deceased following a single-vehicle crash on the night of May 4, 2026.
According to the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 9:39 p.m. to Brangus Lane, a rural road in Chesterfield County. Upon arrival, they discovered a wrecked pickup truck with Sellers inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released details about what caused the crash. Investigators are continuing to examine possible factors, including road conditions, mechanical issues, and other circumstances. At this time, no foul play is suspected, and the case remains under active investigation.
Remembering Landon
Friends, teachers, and community members describe Sellers as a kind, hardworking young man with a passion for automotive work. A 2024 graduate of Cheraw High School, he was enrolled in an automotive technology program at Northeastern Technical College and worked part-time at a local hardware store.
Those who knew him say he was always willing to help others—often fixing cars for friends and neighbors and refusing payment.
“He just wanted to be useful,” one friend shared.
Outside of work and school, Sellers enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors, and being with family. He was especially close to his loved ones, who now face an unimaginable loss.
