A quiet neighborhood in Hanford, California, is reeling after a tragic early-morning incident on Sunday resulted in the deaths of two men in what authorities are describing as an apparent domestic violence-related murder-suicide.
According to the Hanford Police Department, officers were dispatched shortly after 4:00 a.m. to a residence on University Avenue near West Grangeville Boulevard after a 911 call reported a disturbance inside the home. Dispatchers reportedly heard an active argument during the call, prompting an urgent police response.
When officers arrived, they attempted to make contact while hearing ongoing sounds of conflict inside the residence. The situation escalated shortly thereafter.
Authorities report that 33-year-old Vincent Diaz died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after police arrived at the scene. Officers secured the residence and safely escorted a woman from the home who was believed to be involved in the domestic dispute.
During a subsequent search of the residence, officers located 25-year-old Adrian Valdovinos deceased inside a bedroom. He had suffered a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
